Agreena is an international AgTech company based in Denmark that supports the regenerative farming transition to scale nature-based carbon removals in Europe and beyond. Agreena verifies, mints, and sells certificates for improved levels of carbon sequestered in agricultural soils.

The conventional global ag sector of today is contributing to three planetary crises: (1) Agriculture generates approx 25% of all global greenhouse gases; (2) the rapid erosion of our planetary topsoil and growing deterioration of arable land are driving deforestation and contributing to growing insecurity of our food supply; and (3) our global food system is the primary driver of biodiversity loss.

By converting to regenerative practices, the agricultural industry can address all three. Via Agreena’s platform, farmers plan, track, validate - and finance - improvements for their regenerative journey.

Farmers transition from emitting CO2 to drawing CO2 down and storing it in the earth while increasing their operating profitability. The improved health and biodiversity in farm soil reduce the need for inputs while enhancing farmers’ resilience to increasingly adverse climate conditions (such as drought or flooding) - improving the overall operational performance of farms while also addressing our climate challenges.

Beyond supporting farmers in connecting them to the voluntary carbon market, Agreena offers world-leading remote sensing MRV (measurement, reporting, and verification) technology services for the agrifood supply chain, regulators, NGOs and the financial sector. With a mission to scale regenerative agriculture globally, Agreena’s AgTech solutions are supporting the road to global net zero.

In Europe alone, carbon farming could avoid or remove up to 450 MT of C02e each year.
